Vinh City Military Party Congress for the 2020 - 2025 term

On May 26, the Vinh City Military Party Committee held a Congress for the 2020-2025 term. Attending the congress were representatives of the Provincial Military Command and Vinh City leaders.

In the 2015 - 2020 term, closely following the goals and tasks set out in the Congress Resolution; strictly implementing the direction of local Party committees and authorities as well as the direction of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Military Command Party Committee, with high will, determination and solidarity, the Vinh City Military Party Committee always completed its tasks well and excellently, the unit achieved comprehensive strength.

Notably, in leading the implementation of political tasks, it is necessary to promote propaganda work on mass media so that the people, armed forces and students can grasp the Party's guidelines and viewpoints on local military and defense tasks; create high consensus and unity in awareness and action among cadres, party members and people of all walks of life. Lead, direct and implement training and fostering of cadres, organize training according to the program and plan.

Organized 52 military training sessions for 5,360 comrades, trained 12,407 militia comrades, 1,279 reserve soldiers; Advised the City Military Service Council to direct and organize the recruitment of young people to join the army, achieving 100% of the target; military recruitment was implemented synchronously, closely, and achieved high results. Specifically, 755 citizens were recruited to join the army, 233 young people were recruited into the military.

At the same time, comprehensively implemented social policy and military rear policy. 59 war invalid files were examined and received; 3,342 files according to Decision 62; 4,103 files according to Decision 49; over 29 billion VND was paid. Invested in purchasing health insurance cards for mobile militia forces with an amount of over 2 billion VND.

In the leadership work of building strong agencies and units, emulation and reward activities and the Emulation to Win movement are maintained in a systematic, substantive and in-depth manner. In particular, closely following the political tasks of the locality, well implementing the movement "Armed forces join hands to build new rural areas, associated with building civilized urban areas".

Actively participate in helping people overcome the consequences of natural disasters, storms and floods, prevent and fight forest fires, and prevent and fight epidemics. Mobilize cadres, officers, and professional soldiers of the agency to donate to charity funds, social security funds, and gratitude funds... with the amount of 405 million VND.

The Party Committee continues to closely direct the Party building work. Political and ideological education for cadres, party members, and defense workers is emphasized. The Party Committee effectively implements the direction of the Military Region Party Committee Standing Committee on building "3 good, 3 no" party cells and the Provincial Military Party Committee Standing Committee on building "3 good, 4 no" party cells.

Speaking at the congress, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Phan Dai Nghia - Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Provincial Military Command highly appreciated the leadership and direction of the Vinh City Military Party Committee in carrying out political tasks as well as Party building during the past term.

For many consecutive years, the City Military Party Committee has been ranked by the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee as an Excellently Fulfilled Party Committee. In 2015, 2016, 2017, the Vinh City Military Command was awarded the Emulation Flag and the Victory Unit by the Military Region Command. In particular, in 2016, it was honored to receive the Second Class Fatherland Protection Medal from the President for its outstanding achievements in local defense and military work, contributing to the cause of building the Army, consolidating national defense and protecting the Fatherland...

To successfully carry out the goals and tasks in the coming term, he emphasized that the city's Military Party Committee and armed forces need to improve the quality of grasping, forecasting, and correctly assessing the situation, promptly advise, closely coordinate with sectors, forces, and localities, proactively prevent and resolutely and cleverly handle complex situations, and avoid being caught off guard.

Synchronously implement solutions to build a strong and comprehensive armed force, first of all politically strong. Actively coordinate with agencies, departments, branches, unions, political and social organizations and local Party committees and authorities to firmly consolidate the all-people national defense, the all-people national defense posture associated with the people's security posture in the area. Focus on leading the improvement of training quality and combat readiness of local armed forces, especially the mobile militia and agency self-defense forces...
