Congress of Dien Thanh Commune Party Committee (Dien Chau) for the term 2020 - 2025

During 2 days (May 27-28), the Party Committee of Dien Thanh commune (Dien Chau) held the 24th Congress of Delegates for the 2020-2025 term. Attending and directing the Congress were comrade Chu Van Thiep - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Propaganda Department of Dien Chau District Party Committee and 223 delegates representing 509 party members in the entire Party Committee.

During the past term, the Party Committee and people of Dien Thanh commune have strived to achieve many positive results in all fields. The economy continued to grow well, the economic structure shifted positively, and the infrastructure was completed.

In 2015, the average income per capita reached 33.7 million VND/person/year, by 2020 it is estimated to reach nearly 50 million VND/person/year, an increase of 1.5 times compared to the beginning of the term in 2015 (achieving the set plan). The poverty rate in 2015 was 3.48% but by the end of 2019 it had decreased to 0.5%; the rate of well-off and rich households is increasing. If in 2015 the production value of small-scale industry and services in the commune reached over 282.6 billion VND, accounting for 80% of the total production value of the whole commune, by 2020 the production value of the whole commune reached over 535 billion VND, of which small-scale industry and services accounted for 453 billion VND.

People's material life is increasingly improved, cultural and social development has many advantages and positive changes. The movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" has developed. The average rate of cultural families during the term reached 78%. 10/10 cultural houses in the hamlet are basically spacious, with full facilities, partly meeting the cultural needs of the people.

School facilities continue to develop at all three levels; education quality is increasingly improved; the percentage of excellent students at all levels is higher each year; the average annual rate of junior high school graduates is 98%; 226 students have passed the university entrance exam in the past five years.

Party member development work is concerned and focused on quality, with an average of 4 new Party members admitted each year. The emulation movement to build a clean and strong Party cell is focused on, becoming increasingly systematic and achieving practical results.

The Party Committee has set important goals from now until 2025, which are to strive to make the service sector a key sector accounting for 54%; increase the total average income per capita to 81.7 million VND/person/year; the rate of families achieving cultural families is 83% or more; maintain universal primary education for the right age, and firmly universalize lower secondary education; and strive for the Party Committee to annually achieve the Cooperatives for Employees.

In the spirit of democratic centralism, the Congress elected the 24th Party Executive Committee of the commune for the 2020-2025 term. At the same time, it elected a delegation to attend the 26th Dien Chau District Party Congress.
