Taiwan crushes Lamborghini supercar with fake license plate
A Taiwanese driver's supercar was publicly destroyed to ensure nothing could be resold as parts.
Priced at around $315,000 in Taiwan, the Murcielago supercar was discovered with a fake license plate three years ago, confiscated and destroyed on December 14 in Taichung, Taiwan in front of a large media audience, according to China Post.
The supercar’s owner, a man named Lin, was driving down the street in 2013 when he was stopped at a police checkpoint. The license plate on the Lamborghini was actually that of a Ford.
The supercar was confiscated and after 3 years was put on the market. The owner is said to have asked a friend to stop the destruction but failed. The Murcielago was eventually reduced to scrap.
