Accordingly, on his Facebook account, Ambassador Ted Osius stated his opinion in both Vietnamese and English with the content: "The New York Times just listed Vietnam as one of the 20 places you should visit in your 20s. And while I completely agree with the above suggestion, I have an opinion that you should visit Vietnam in your 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s! Just because you are older doesn't mean you are too old and can't enjoy what Vietnam has to offer!"
Previously, in an article titled "20 Destinations for You in Your 20s" published on October 20 in the online version of the New York Times, one of the leading newspapers in the US, Vietnam was the 10th destination listed.
The newspaper said it was difficult to see all the wonders of Southeast Asia in a week, but if tourists could find a little more time, they should head to Vietnam, a country "with a rich culinary culture, natural scenery and attractive cultural features" and at the same time, it did not cost much.
The New York Times suggests its readers visit coastal cities like Hoi An, Hue, or a memorable cruise in Ha Long Bay.
