Talks between German Chancellor Angela Merkel and US President Donald Trump proved ineffective, reflecting the coldness and tension between the two countries, State Duma Foreign Affairs Committee member Sergey Zhelezniak said.
"The negotiations between German Chancellor Angela Merkel and US President Donald Trump were not easy for either side, and the results were ambiguous and ineffective. According to the politician, for Germany, the US demand for increased military spending to maintain NATO could become the price that Berlin "will have to pay for the interests of their businesses, which will suffer losses due to the US embargo against Russia".
According to the MP, the US embargo policy against Russia not only makes Germans unhappy, but Germany itself suffers the greatest losses from the violation of Russian-German economic relations.
