The Republican Party Convention takes place from July 15-18 (Washington time) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The main outcome of the convention will be the formalization of the results of the party's internal election, in which Mr. Donald Trump was nominated as the presidential candidate.
Right before the National Party Convention, on July 13 (Washington time), during a public appearance in Pennsylvania, Mr. Donald Trump was shot.
The suspect, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crook, aimed his gun at the former US President from above while he was speaking, injuring him in the ear. The FBI called the incident an attempt to assassinate Mr. Trump.
In American history, before Donald Trump, the only former president and candidate to be shot was Theodore Roosevelt, who was wounded before a campaign event in 1912, but that did not stop him from giving a speech that lasted an hour and a half. Roosevelt lost the election that year.

The Republican National Convention agenda will be divided into days. July 15 will be devoted to economic issues. “The second term of the Trump administration will turn the page and usher in a new era of prosperity,” the National Unity Committee described the opening day of the convention.
The next day of the program is devoted to security issues, with delegates discussing border issues, as well as drug trafficking, violent crime and the rule of law.
