Vehicle inspection opens hotline to look up vehicles with late fines
A hotline has just been announced by the Department of Registration to help car owners check whether their car's registration has been suspended due to late fines.
A representative of the Vietnam Register said that vehicle owners can call the hotline 02437684706 to get information related to whether the vehicle is on the list of vehicles that have been refused registration. Vehicle owners can request support to look up information to know the reason for the suspension of registration to avoid the situation of bringing the vehicle to the inspection agency only to discover that they have violated the law and waste time traveling to pay the fine.

Recently, tens of thousands of car owners were denied vehicle inspection because they had not paid the fine, many of whom only found out when they brought their cars for inspection. |
For the convenience of the people, the Department of Registration has requested that registration centers nationwide strengthen the information receiving department and notify the vehicle status when customers request support. If the vehicle has a violation warning, the registration unit will specifically notify "up to the present time, the vehicle has a violation notice according to document number... of the agency...", so that the vehicle owner and driver can handle it before taking the vehicle for inspection.
Previously, the leader of the Registration Department said that he had asked the IT center to research and help car owners look up online whether their vehicle was on the list of vehicles that were denied registration or not.
Recently, tens of thousands of vehicle owners have been denied vehicle inspection because they have not paid the fines, many of whom only found out when they took their vehicles for inspection. According to regulations, when these vehicles have violated traffic safety laws as recorded by cameras, the police will send a notice to their place of residence. However, many vehicle owners did not receive the notice because they changed their address, or registered their vehicle at one location and moved to another location and were late in paying the fine. There are also many vehicle owners who deliberately did not pay the fines.
In the first 9 months of this year, the Department of Vehicle Registration received a list of more than 16,000 vehicles that violated traffic safety regulations but had not paid fines. To date, only 5,500 vehicle owners have complied and had their vehicles re-inspected.
