My first trip to Vietnam was life-changing. Maybe it was because everything was new and different from what I grew up with. The food, the culture and the landscape were all inseparable, and seemed like they were from another planet.”

Chef Anthony, on a trip to Hue in 2014, visited the stalls at Dong Ba Market to enjoy a bowl of Hue-style beef noodle soup. He found it “the best soup in the world,” a complex dish made with bone broth.
During his trip, Anthony had the opportunity to experience many different hotels, but he was still most impressed with the old colonial hotels in Southeast Asia such as Metropole Hanoi, Majestic Saigon or Grand Hotel d'Angkor at Angkor Wat.
This is not the first time the veteran American MC has expressed his sympathy and admiration for the country and people of Vietnam. Previously, he had an article titled “Want to know more about Vietnam” published in a British newspaper.
