Heartbroken sister sold her sister to China
(Baonghean.vn) - Kham believes that colluding with Pheng and Hong's couple to take his sister Luong Thi Pe to China was to help his sister get married and help the family have money to pay for living expenses. Greed and ignorance almost pushed Kham's family into tragedy.

Over 20 years old, Luong Me Kham (residing in Bao Thang commune, Ky Son) looks as old as nearly 40 years old with a large and slightly rough body, a square face, two sunken eyes as if she has not slept for a long time. Since her arrest, nearly 10 months have passed, Kham has not seen her two children again. Only Kham's father and brother came to court, but not to visit Kham but as the legal representative of the victim. Kham and 3 others sold his sister to China.

Luong Thi Pe, Kham's younger sister, was born in 2000. Like most of the girls who fell in love early in this highland village, Pe also got married when she was just over 15 years old. Being young and inexperienced, Pe's marriage was not smooth sailing. Angry with her husband, Pe returned to her parents' house. The marriage was not a marriage certificate, so breaking up was as easy as going into the forest to chop a bundle of firewood and bring it home.
Seeing her sister's love life fail, and seeing many other girls who married Chinese men and came back beautiful, well-dressed, and with plenty of money, when hearing Moong Thi Pheng (born in 1972, living in the same village) saying she was looking for someone to marry a Chinese man for Vi Thi Hong (born in 1974, living in Chieu Luu commune, Ky Son), Kham immediately thought of his younger sister.
“If you give me an advance of 10 million, I will let you go,” Kham told Pheng. After that, Pheng and Kham went to Vi Thi Hong and Moong Van Tuyen’s house to discuss sending Pe to China to get married. After discussing, Hong and her husband agreed to send Pe to China for 80 million VND, and gave Kham an advance of 10 million VND. With the 10 million VND advance money to sell her, Kham spent 1 million VND, and gave the remaining 9 million VND to his father.
On the appointed day, Hong and his wife went to Bao Thang to take Pe away, but she refused to marry a Chinese man, but the money her sister had advanced to bring back to her father had been spent in part. If Pe did not go, according to the previous agreement, the family would have to pay Hong and his wife double. 20 million VND, where would they get it now?

Finally, feeling sorry for his father and sister, Pe agreed. On the evening of May 7, 2016, when Moong Van Tuyen was taking Pe from Bao Thang to Chieu Luu to go to China, he was discovered and arrested by the Ky Son District Police, and Pe was released.
Before the trial, Luong Me Kham still insisted that she was helping her sister get married, not buying or selling anything. The judge analyzed that marriage is a matter between a man and a woman, based on love between the two parties and the consent of the family. As the older sister, Luong Me Kham should have advised and advised her not to get married at a young age. When her husband and wife had a conflict, she should have analyzed right and wrong to help her mend and preserve family happiness, not taking that opportunity to sell her sister to China, even if it was to get married, it would still be against the law.
In this case, fortunately, Kham’s sister was not sold to China because if she went there, she might have been sold into prostitution or forced labor, with no chance of returning to her family… Listening to the judge’s analysis, Luong Me Kham seemed to have just realized her wrongdoing. After almost being sold to China, Luong Thi Pe thought more carefully and decided to return to her husband. Pe is currently pregnant and will give birth to her first child in the near future.
In court, as the legal representative of the victim, Mr. Luong Pho Vinh said that he himself did not fully realize that what Kham did to Pe was wrong. When his daughter brought the money home and said that it was the money Pe used to marry a Chinese man, he simply thought that it was money someone gave him in advance to "propose the marriage".
It was his family's good fortune that Pe was not forced to marry a Chinese man. Now Pe's family situation is stable, he has one less worry in his heart. He earnestly asked the jury to consider reducing the sentence for his daughter because there is no one to take care of or raise her two young grandchildren at home.
According to the panel of judges, in this case, Vi Thi Hong was the initiator and must bear primary responsibility; Luong Thi Kham, Moong Thi Pheng and Moong Van Tuyen were accomplices and played an active supporting role. Differentiating the roles of each defendant, the panel sentenced Vi Thi Hong to 5 years in prison, Moong Me Pheng and Luong Me Kham to 4 years each, and Moong Van Tuyen to 3 years in prison for the crime of “Human trafficking”.
