Speed ​​up construction of National Highway 48 to Lach Quen Port

(Baonghean.vn) - The construction project of a grade-separated intersection between National Highway 1 and National Highway 48B and the section connecting the intersection to Lach Quen Port approved by the Ministry of Transport with a total length of about 12.13km is being accelerated by contractors.

The project starts at Km0+000 (QL48B, Lach Quen port), in Quynh Thuan commune, Quynh Luu and ends at Km12+500 intersecting with the turnoff to Cau Giat station. The basic route follows the current QL48B, with 02 sections of the route being rerouted to limit site clearance through densely populated areas.

On the route, two new bridges will be built: Binh Son 1 Bridge and Binh Son 2 Bridge; the overpass at National Highway 1 at the intersection of National Highway 48B and National Highway 1 with a total length of 203.7m. Total investment cost: 371,110 billion VND from the surplus capital of the National Highway 1 expansion project under the BOT contract form.

Mr. Le Minh Dung - Deputy Director of the Project Management Board said: Up to now, the GPMB stake-laying work has been completed and handed over to the Compensation and Resettlement Council of Quynh Luu district; the work of implementing the measurement drawings has been basically completed. The construction unit that has rented the production premises from the households has so far handed over 1.50km/12.13km.

Currently, the 319 Corporation is constructing the foundation from Km0+000 to Km8+637.5, with an actual value of 6.0 billion/98,996 billion. There are 1,110 households affected, and so far only 668 households/1,110 households have been inventoried, reaching 60.18%, and the work of determining the origin of the land is underway.

Cienco 4 package constructs Binh Son 1 bridge, Binh Son 2 bridge, QL1 overpass with QL48B, and the section from Km8+637.5 – Km12+500. The realized value is 13 billion/ 122 billion. Currently, Binh Son I bridge is completing the pile casting yard, beam casting yard, and conducting the casting of reinforced concrete piles. Binh Son II bridge has completed the temporary bridge serving the construction, and completed the driving of reinforced concrete test piles at 02 bridge abutments.

Construction of the overpass at the QL1 intersection has completed 5/5 bored piles, T3 pier base, completed the beam casting yard, and cast 2/21 beams. As for the retaining wall, reinforced concrete piles are being cast (32 piles have been cast).

The project is expected to be completed in 2017 and to speed up the progress, QL1A Cienco 4 BOT 2TV Co., Ltd. and Corporation 319 are focusing on human resources and machinery to overcome difficulties in the site to achieve the best construction volume.

The current problem is that the relevant agencies need to quickly relocate the cable system, underground and above-ground power lines and the section from Km0+297.51 - Km0+539.67 and clear the site (with 62 households involved) so that contractors can construct according to the proposed plan.
