Requesting press agencies to propagate overcoming 4 risk groups in preventing and fighting Covid-19 epidemic

On the afternoon of October 12, the Provincial People's Committee held a press conference to inform about the socio-economic situation in the third quarter of 2021.

At the press conference, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment Nguyen Xuan Duc reported that in the first 9 months of 2021, the whole province implemented the goals and tasks in the context of the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, severely affecting production, business activities and people's lives.

With the leadership and direction of the Party Committee and the government, the synchronous participation of the entire political system, the unanimous support and great efforts of all classes of people and the business community; the implementation of goals and tasks still achieved positive results. With a decisive spirit, synchronous solutions with a higher perspective, one step ahead, mobilizing the support and consensus of the people, Nghe An province has basically controlled the Covid-19 epidemic.

Despite many difficulties, the province's gross domestic product growth rate in the first 9 months increased by 5.9%. Agricultural production still maintained a good growth rate; State budget revenue in the first 9 months was VND 13,219 billion, reaching 94.2% of the estimate, up 13.2% over the same period; Industrial production had a good growth rate.

The province has focused on building and perfecting mechanisms and policies to improve the investment environment. In the past 9 months, 86 new projects were granted and 105 projects were adjusted; the total newly granted and increased investment capital was 22,701.75 billion VND; compared to the same period in 2020, the number of projects increased by 38.7%, the total investment increased by 4.25 times. The concentrated public investment capital managed by the province has disbursed 1,921,289 billion VND, reaching 61.25% of the detailed plan.

The province has also approved support for nearly 13,000 people with a budget of more than VND 19.2 billion according to Resolution No. 68 of the Government; providing over 27,100 job positions at enterprises inside and outside the province for workers to access and find jobs.

At the press conference, representatives of central and local press agencies asked many questions about the following contents: How is the reception of citizens returning from the southern provinces and cities of the province carried out?; How many people have returned to their hometowns of working age and how many have been employed?; How has the province implemented the support for workers affected by the epidemic according to Resolution No. 68 of the Government so far, and what difficulties and problems are there?.

Journalists also asked the Provincial People's Committee and departments and branches to respond to issues related to solutions to restore production and business of enterprises; Is there or is there not a 200-hectare urban area project of Ecopark Group in Hung Hoa commune (Vinh city), which is being advertised widely on social networks; When will the anti-landslide project in Luong Minh commune, Tuong Duong district be completed? How is the care of tigers after the illegal capture and breeding in Yen Thanh district up to now?...

Representatives of the Provincial People's Committee, Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Department of Construction, Department of Taxation, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Vinh City People's Committee, etc. specifically answered questions from journalists and reporters. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long affirmed that Nghe An province does not encourage citizens to ride motorbikes back to their hometowns because it poses many risks of traffic accidents and disease transmission. Among the citizens who have returned to their hometowns (as of October 8, more than 92,000 people), the proportion of workers working in factories and construction sites with labor contracts is very small, the majority of them work seasonally.

In the past, Nghe An and the southern provinces and cities have reached an agreement that citizens who want to return to their hometowns should register through the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs for the provinces, and Ho Chi Minh City should register through the Department of Transportation. When conditions are suitable, the province will develop a plan to welcome citizens back. Therefore, we hope that the press will propagate so that people understand and feel secure to stay and work when the southern provinces and cities have begun to stabilize again. If you really want to return to your hometown, you should register with the authorities of the southern provinces and cities, or ask your relatives to register in your hometown.

Concluding the press conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long emphasized that the important contribution of the press agencies to the province's achievements, especially in the propaganda work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic, has been made. Many journalists and reporters have actively rushed to hot spots and dangerous places at complicated and sensitive times and moments. In addition, the press agencies have also acted as a bridge for capable units to support the epidemic prevention and control fund and support families and people in difficult circumstances.

Nghe An province acknowledges, thanks and hopes that press agencies will continue to propagate so that people and businesses can grasp and better implement the goals, tasks and solutions for socio-economic development in the last 3 months of 2021. In the work of preventing and fighting the epidemic, it hopes that press agencies will focus on propaganda to overcome 4 groups of risks: Risk of subjectivity and negligence; risk of losing control of the source of infection from the epidemic area; risk of the epidemic situation worsening beyond the province's capacity and risk of social security crisis.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested press agencies to strengthen propaganda on storm and flood prevention to raise people's vigilance, minimize damage caused by natural disasters; propagate crime prevention, ensure security and order, traffic safety; Strengthen propaganda on good practices, typical examples to replicate, thereby contributing to the development of the province./.
