Taking advantage of the summer vacation, Tran Duc Dung (born in 1999, 11th grade student at Tay Hieu High School, Thai Hoa Town, Nghe An) followed his father to Sao River to fish to earn money for tuition. While fishing, his fishing rod fell into the river, he quickly jumped in to retrieve the rod but was swept away by the water and disappeared.

Dung's family is poor.

Seeing his son drowning, Mr. Vinh immediately jumped in to save him, but because the water was strong and deep, he could not find his son. Mr. Vinh immediately ran back to inform his relatives and the authorities to organize a search.

At 3:30 p.m. on July 3, Dung's body was found about 10 meters from the drowning location.

It is known that Dung's family is in a very difficult situation. The whole family is living in a dilapidated house of his grandparents. Vinh himself is blind in one eye and has a coronary artery disease. Dung's mother, Tran Thi Oanh, has pleural effusion and is currently working in Malaysia with her siblings, earning money to help her husband raise 2 children to study.

The family is currently carrying out burial procedures for Dung according to local customs.
