Uncle Ho's testament has special significance for Party building work.
President Ho Chi Minh's Testament carries a timeless vision of the need to build the Party comprehensively, regularly and continuously.
Towards the 50th anniversary of implementing President Ho Chi Minh's Testament, on the morning of August 12, in Hanoi, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics coordinated with Nhan Dan Newspaper to organize a scientific seminar with the theme "50 years of implementing President Ho Chi Minh's Testament on Party building".

Professor, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council and Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper Thuan Huu co-chaired the discussion.
At the seminar, the presentations and opinions emphasized: President Ho Chi Minh's Testament is a theoretical work on Party building and strengthening the ruling Party, a guiding document for the Vietnamese revolution, especially for Party building work.
In his Testament, President Ho Chi Minh emphasized: “First of all, let’s talk about the Party.” This shows his greatest and deepest concern about building a clean and strong ruling Communist Party of Vietnam.
The work of Party building and Party rectification in President Ho Chi Minh's Testament has three major contents: First, it is necessary to strengthen solidarity and unity within the Party - maintaining solidarity and unity within the Party is the decisive factor for success in all tasks of "progressing from one victory to another".
Second, we must promote democracy within the Party, self-criticism and criticism regularly and seriously. President Ho Chi Minh advised: “Within the Party, practicing democracy widely, regularly and seriously, self-criticism and criticism is the best way to consolidate and develop solidarity and unity within the Party. There must be comradely love and affection for one another.”
Self-criticism and criticism to promote advantages, correct shortcomings to make the Party stronger, must have the right motivation and attitude of self-criticism and criticism for the development and strength of the Party.
Third, the core principle in building the ruling Communist Party is to attach great importance to training revolutionary ethics, resolutely eliminating individualism and negative and degenerate elements within the Party.
In his Testament, when writing about Party building, President Ho Chi Minh also wrote about the young generation. The revolutionary cause is a long-term, enduring cause, continuing from generation to generation.
Speaking at the seminar, Professor, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, stated that the Testament has passed on to the next generation the burning aspiration and determination to fulfill President Ho Chi Minh's wishes to strive to build a peaceful, unified, independent, democratic and prosperous Vietnam.
“We are increasingly aware of the value and special importance of the Testament for the work of Party building. These are timeless instructions on the need to build the Party comprehensively, regularly and continuously in terms of ideology, organization, ethics and cadres, etc.Regarding the responsibility of the people, the responsibility of the Party before the people and the nation, and the awareness of a ruling Party that must constantly renew itself and rectify itself to always be clean and strong to successfully lead the revolutionary cause in the current new context," said Professor, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang.

Scientists also affirmed that, following President Ho Chi Minh's instructions in his Testament, over the past 50 years, the Communist Party of Vietnam has continuously cared for self-construction and self-rectification in terms of politics, ideology, organization and ethics.
Currently, our Party is continuing to promote Party building and rectification, according to Resolution of the 4th Central Committee (11th tenure), Resolution of the 4th Central Conference (12th tenure) on "Strengthening Party building and rectification, preventing and repelling the degradation of political ideology, morality, lifestyle, and manifestations of "self-evolution" and self-transformation within the Party".
The viewpoint on Party building and rectification is “Look straight at the truth, speak clearly the truth, and evaluate the truth correctly. Combine “building” and “fighting”, “building” is a fundamental, long-term strategic task; “fighting” is an important and urgent task.
Major General, Associate Professor, Doctor Nguyen Van The - Deputy Director of the Political Academy of the Ministry of National Defense commented: "The leadership capacity and fighting strength of many Party organizations are still low, and in some places, they have even lost their fighting strength.The quality and effectiveness of ideological and theoretical work are not high, and innovation in personnel work has not had any major breakthroughs.The worrying thing that is emerging now is the degradation of political ideology and lifestyle ethics of a large number of cadres and party members that has not been pushed back, and is evolving in a sophisticated and complicated manner.
To continue effectively implementing Party building work in the current period, delegates emphasized the need to build and firmly consolidate the Party's ideological and theoretical foundation, which is Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought, and to faithfully apply and creatively develop theories into Vietnamese practice in the new conditions of the times.
