Going swimming in the river with friends, male student tragically drowned

Previously, on the afternoon of May 3, a group of 7 9th grade students from Nghia Thanh Secondary School, Nghia Dan District (Nghe An) invited each other to go to Hieu River (in Tan Thang hamlet, Nghia Thanh commune) to cool off.

While bathing, PTH (born 2010, residing in Nghia Thanh commune) was swept away by the water and went missing.

Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department (Provincial Police) urgently mobilized forces and vehicles to the scene, coordinating with local authorities and people to search.

After nearly a day of searching, on the afternoon of May 4, the male student's body was found about 300m downstream from the drowning location. Rescuers recovered H.'s body and handed it over to his family for funeral arrangements.
