A third grade student drowned while swimming in the river.
(Baonghean.vn) - At noon on June 15, in Yen Xuan village, Vo Liet commune, Thanh Chuong district, a tragic drowning incident occurred. The victim was Nguyen Duy Phu, a 3rd grade student at Vo Liet 2 Primary School.

According to locals, on the afternoon of June 15, Nguyen Duy Phu (9 years old) and Nguyen Van Cuong (9 years old), both living in Yen Xuan village, invited each other to go swimming in the Ro River (a branch of the Lam River flowing through the village). At around 12 noon, while swimming at Ba Hai wharf, Phu drowned, and Cuong ran back to call his family.
Upon receiving the news, people in the surrounding area quickly rushed to the Ro River to search. About 30 minutes later, Phu's body was recovered not far from the riverbank. Those present performed first aid but he had already died.

Currently, the family and local people are completing procedures to bury the victim.
It is known that Phu is the youngest of two children. His father is in prison and his mother left home to work. Phu and his brother are being raised by their grandparents. The family's situation is extremely difficult./.
