The two latest cases occurred in Kiev on Friday during the Ukrainian Independence Day parade. One of the soldiers standing in the honor guard fainted when Poroshenko said Ukraine was needed for Europe, the newspaper noted. The soldier was taken out and another replaced him.
Next to him, a Ukrainian paratrooper fainted in Khreschatyk. During the moment of silence, the serviceman fell down, and his colleagues pulled him aside.
The previous incident happened in March of this year. Poroshenko was giving a speech at the anniversary of the Ukrainian National Guard, and this time the soldier holding the flag behind him fainted, fell down, and dropped the flag. The flag was quickly raised, and the soldier was taken away.
Earlier, in November 2017, a soldier in the honor guard fainted next to the Holodomor memorial. The soldier felt uncomfortable because his helmet was too tight and was squeezing his blood vessels, media reported. The soldier was taken away by ambulance.
The first incident occurred at the inauguration of the current president of Ukraine. The soldier in the honor guard that Poroshenko passed on the red carpet dropped his gun and fell. Many considered this a bad omen, Strana.ua notes. It later became known that the soldier who fainted had a serious kidney disease, for which he eventually had to leave the Ukrainian armed forces.
