Since 2003, Dien Chau district has built Dien Hong IC on an area of ​​10 hectares with a total investment of 11.6 billion VND, meeting the needs of 13 enterprises and 28 households in production and business in fields such as steel bar production, steel billet cooking, roofing sheets, plastic granulation, agricultural machinery services...

The cluster's total revenue reaches over 550 billion VND/year, paying over 4.4 billion VND/year in taxes, creating jobs for nearly 400 workers with stable income. Based on the actual needs of the locality, in 2006, Dien Chau district continued to invest in building the 26-hectare Thap - Hong - Ky Industrial Park and synchronously built technical infrastructure including: Traffic system, water supply and drainage system, modern wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 300 m³/day... Currently, there are 30 enterprises investing in construction and operating stably. The total revenue of the industrial cluster reaches over 300 billion VND/year.

Mr. Le Manh Hien - Head of Finance and Planning Department of Dien Chau district said: To continue to strongly develop the field of investment attraction, the district issued Project No. 15-DA/HU dated June 22, 2016 on "Attracting investment to develop industry, small-scale industry and craft villages in the period of 2016 - 2020".

With the attention and support of relevant levels and sectors, and the efforts of investors, after the Project was issued, there have been many registered projects with a total capital of more than 1,238 billion VND, including large projects such as Muong Thanh Safari Land Dien Lam Eco-tourism Area (phase 1), Viet Tien Sports, Trade and Service Center, Trung Huy Trade and Spare Parts Trading Center, ECO International Packaging Factory, etc.

In just the first 7 months of 2017, the district has received 5 investment registration projects with a total registered capital of over 109 billion VND, a leased area of ​​5.3 hectares in the fields of trade and services, petroleum trading, construction materials production, civil wooden furniture, car dealerships, auto repair...

Dynamic agricultural sector

Farmers in Dien Chau district are very active in investing in agricultural production. In recent times, the district has built and effectively promoted 164 models of applying science and technology in the fields of cultivation, animal husbandry, forestry, aquaculture and applying science and technology in building large-scale fields...

The most popular application of science and technology is in the field of cultivation with 134 models accounting for nearly 82%. Typically, rice with many quality varieties, combined with the SRI intensive farming method, has brought about a yield of 60 - 70 quintals/ha, an average income of 40 - 45 million VND/ha/crop, an increase of 15 - 20% compared to mass production. Vegetable models applying science and technology have brought about an income of 60 million VND to over 100 million VND/ha.

Along with land accumulation, many farmers in Dien Chau are now boldly applying high technology to create high value per unit area. In Dien Thanh commune, the melon model in the greenhouse of Mr. Hoang Van Huong, hamlet 7 has yielded 3 tons of fruit, with a revenue of over 195 million VND.

This is the first model in Dien Chau that applies high technology with automatic control system of sun-blocking net, Israeli drip irrigation technology, air conditioning system, helps to block rain, sun and prevent insects from entering, reduce production costs, ensure product hygiene and safety. Mr. Huong's model has opened a new direction for Dien Chau farmers to approach modern agricultural production.

Or in Dien Lien commune, people boldly planted over 400 red-fleshed dragon fruit trees to achieve high productivity and quality. At the same time, in many localities, there are models of growing melons, medicinal plants... which are new models with high efficiency that are being actively replicated by the district to help people get rich in their homeland.

Mr. Le The Hieu - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dien Chau district said: Determining the application of scientific and technological advances as a breakthrough, Dien Chau has issued a restructuring project and a project to apply science and technology in agriculture.

Accordingly, many support mechanisms for agriculture were issued promptly, creating motivation for farmers to boldly apply new models into production, in which the district supported the replication of models applying science and technology in the production of high-quality vegetables, tubers and fruits in greenhouses with an area of ​​1,000 m2 or more, with a level of 100 million VND/model. In 2017, the district continued to have policies to encourage and support the replication of models applying science and technology in agricultural production.

Focus on tourism development

With a coastline of 25km, spanning 6 communes, Dien Chau district has recently planned and built 5 coastal tourist areas. Notably, Dien Thanh coastal tourist area is currently a destination chosen by many domestic and international tourists. Currently, in this tourist area, the district is supplementing and adjusting the planning and continuing to invest in completing the technical infrastructure to create an ideal tourist destination for Dien Chau.

At Hon Cau - Dien Hai beach resort, detailed planning is also being done and the transportation system is being invested in. With many advantages in developing tourism associated with resorts, Dien Chau has been forming a system of tourism service businesses, coastal resort hotels such as in the town, Dien Thanh and Dien Hai communes, the dike route, coastal roads, and the Cuong - Cua Hien Temple road...
