Nghe An Electricity conducts disaster prevention and search and rescue drills
(Baonghean.vn) - On April 12, in Cua Lo town, Nghe An Electricity Company organized a drill on natural disaster prevention, search and rescue, incident handling and safety management in 2024. 5 units with more than 200 officers and employees of the company participated in the drill.

Nghe An province is a place where extreme weather events, natural disasters, storms and floods often occur. The power grid managed by Nghe An Electricity Company mainly passes through fields, villages, rivers, streams, and mountains, so disaster prevention and search and rescue work is always a top priority. Nghe An Electricity Company identifies this as an important task in ensuring safe and continuous power supply for customers.

To ensure safe and continuous power supply during the 2024 storm season, the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Nghe An Power Company selected the 110kV line 172E15.8 Cua Lo - 172E15.33 Nghi Thiet, 110kV WHA substation (E15.51) and lines 473E15.8, DZ 482E15.8, 475E15.16, 471E15.16, 481E15.16 to organize the 2024 Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue drill (4-in-1 drill), thereby improving the units' ability to handle incidents, overcome storm-caused damage and improve the stability of power supply to loads.

The drill also aims to check and evaluate the work of preparation, response, command of natural disaster prevention, implementation of the 4-on-the-spot motto in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, handling electrical incidents, thereby drawing experience and providing solutions to quickly overcome the consequences, promptly restore power supply to customers; improve skills and knowledge for officers and employees in searching, rescuing, and saving victims of natural disasters; improve the quality of coordination work, mobilize internal resources in the Company and units;...

At the same time, practice professional skills and professional manners in implementing procedures and safety measures when handling incident situations for leaders and units of the company to ensure absolute safety while still completing the fastest remediation of incident consequences.

The drill took place with hypothetical situations: Handling technical incidents caused by storms and lightning; overcoming the situation of total power outage at transformer stations managed by the unit; overcoming the consequences of storms, protecting power lines and search and rescue situations.

According to the assessment, the exercise achieved its objectives and requirements, ensuring absolute safety for people and equipment. In particular, the level of organization and command of the company's leaders and the coordination of actions between the affiliated power units were smooth and consistent with each situation. The practice process of handling situations was flexible, quick, and in accordance with techniques and procedures.
