Investigated 79 cases, 101 defendants with behavior of taking advantage of tourism activities to send people abroad
(Baonghean.vn) - That is the information given at the Conference to review 2 years of implementing the Coordination Regulations on national security protection and social order in the tourism sector in the province, organized by Nghe An Police and Nghe An Department of Tourism on the afternoon of July 18.

After more than 2 years of implementing the Coordination Regulations, the internal political security situation, economic security and issues of social order and safety, and environment in the tourism sector have had many positive results, creating favorable conditions for the province's tourism business activities to develop stably and sustainably.
Regarding the work of ensuring security and order in the tourism industry, the Provincial Police has directed the Police of units and localities to strengthen their surveillance of the area, coordinate with units under the tourism industry, and Border Guard stations to resolutely fight against all types of crimes that take advantage of tourism to operate, ensuring the safety of life, property, rights and legitimate interests of tourists and tourism agencies and businesses. At the same time, coordinate and synchronously deploy preventive measures to combat activities that violate national security, all types of crimes and violations of the law in the tourism sector...
Notably, 79 cases were investigated, 101 defendants were investigated for organizing and brokering the use of tourism activities to send people abroad and then illegally stay there; 6 lines were verified and 16 subjects in Nghe An were brokers and organizers of sending people to Taiwan for tourism, then illegally stay there to work; 1 subject was investigated and handled for causing 2 small explosions at a hotel to pressure, threaten, and blackmail... In addition, the police of units and localities coordinated with relevant departments and branches to organize 35 inspections of food safety and hygiene, control service prices, and environmental hygiene at restaurants and hotels serving tourists in the area.
In addition to the above results, in reality, there are still many potential problems that pose a risk to security and safety in the tourism industry, such as: Many businesses operating tourism services in the area do not have a license, are late in declaring or do not fully store tourists' identification documents; violate public order, environmental sanitation, traffic safety order, etc.

Concluding the conference, Major General Nguyen Huu Cau - Director of the Provincial Police Department hoped that in the coming time, the two sectors will strengthen closer and more comprehensive coordination in ensuring security in the tourism sector, to make tourism a spearhead economic sector of the province.
