Investigation into the case of thugs breaking into people's houses and destroying property

Police are investigating many cases of thugs carrying weapons repeatedly going to people's homes, destroying property and slashing victims, causing serious injuries.

A leader of Tan Thanh District Police (Ba Ria-Vung Tau) said they are investigating a case where many groups of thugs carrying weapons continuously went to people's houses to destroy property and slash victims, causing serious injuries.

At around 8am on June 2, a group of young men carrying weapons on motorbikes came to the house of Mr. Thong A Phuc (residing in Cau Ri hamlet, Song Xoai commune, Tan Thanh district) and smashed the glass doors of the victim's house. "They carried machetes and 2 pellet guns and rushed into my house, shouting and threatening to slash anyone who dared to leave the house. We closed the door and did not dare to go out. They broke the glass doors and used machetes to slash the back door made of corrugated iron," said Mr. Phuc's family.

Previously, on May 30, the same group of thugs came to the victim’s house and smashed the glass doors. According to Mr. Phuc, his son had previously had a conflict with a group of young men.

On the same day, at 10 p.m., about 20 people in 5 taxis from Vung Tau City carrying weapons and machetes came to the house of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dinh (45 years old, residing in Tan Phuoc Commune, Tan Thanh District) and slashed the victim many times in the back and hands, severing tendons. The victim was then taken to Ba Ria Hospital for emergency treatment and hand tendon repair.

A leader of Tan Thanh District Police said that related to the group of people who slashed Mr. Dinh, the police department has just arrested 10 suspects for investigation. The police department has released a 15-year-old suspect on bail to his family.
