(Baonghean.vn) - A deer farmer in Hoang Mai town (Nghe An) has just cut a pair of deer antlers weighing more than 3.3 kg. This record pair of antlers was sold for nearly 50 million VND.
Mr. Vu Van Dung in block 1, Quynh Xuan ward, Hoang Mai town is the owner of the pair of velvet.deerThis record. According to Mr. Dung, the deer with this pair of antlers was bought by him from a household in Quynh My commune (Quynh Luu). When Mr. Dung bought it, the deer had a pair of antlers weighing about 1.7 kg. After 1 month of intensive care, the weight of the pair of antlers increased to more than 3.3 kg (twice as much as before).

According to Mr. Dung, after many yearsraising deer for luck, never before has a deer given such large, long and heavy antlers. Normally, deer in the antlers-cutting season weigh about 1.5 kg - 2 kg.

Ms. Le Thi Canh - a trader in Quynh Vinh commune (Hoang Mai town) said: "Up to now, I have specialized in purchasing deer and elk antlers in the whole Nghe An province and there has never been a pair of deer antlers that weighs more than 3.3 kg like at Mr. Vu Van Dung's household.

Quynh Luu and Hoang Mai town are the localities with the most developed deer farming in the province with more than 16,000 deer raised by more than 5,500 households; each year the output of deer antlers exported to the market reaches 8 - 10 tons with a value of more than 10 billion VND./.
