A couple staged a robbery at a fashion store.
Three days after being hired, Tien and her boyfriend staged a robbery and stole 13 million VND from the clothing store owner.
On January 24, Cau Giay District Police (Hanoi) said they were investigating the staged robbery of Vuong Thuy Tien (28 years old, residing in Ba Dinh District) and Cao Minh Tung (29 years old, residing in Nam Tu Liem District).
According to the police, after making a detailed plan, Tien wandered around Hanoi looking for a job, while Tung went online to buy numbing spray. On January 15, Tien was hired at a clothing store on Cau Giay Street.
At 2 p.m. on January 18, Tung, wearing a motorbike taxi uniform and a mask, entered the store. In the middle of the counter, he pulled out an anesthetic spray and sprayed it directly into Tien's face.
Tien then pretended to scream, covered her face and collapsed on the ground. Tung quickly took 13 million VND and a mobile phone and left the scene. The entire incident was recorded by the camera and the store owner later posted it on social media.

A day later, Tien and the shop owner went to the Quan Hoa police station to report the incident. Combining the testimony and evidence collected at the scene, the police suspected that this was a staged incident.
On January 20, when she was invited to interview for the second time, Tien confessed to all her actions. She said she was given 5 million VND and returned the phone the same night the incident occurred.
According to the police, Tung has two criminal records, lives a vagrant life, and is unemployed.
