A couple in Nghe An went into the forest to eat poison ivy and committed suicide because they were forbidden to love each other.
(Baonghean.vn) - Having feelings for each other but not being accepted by their families because they were not old enough to get married, two children, Va Y Ua, born in 2002 and Vu Ba Nhenh, born in 2003, residing in Ky Son district, committed suicide by eating poison leaves.
The authorities of Nam Can commune, Ky Son district confirmed that at around 3:00 p.m. on July 3, a suicide incident involving poison ivy occurred in the commune, resulting in the death of a man and a woman.

According to initial information, the two victims were Va Y Ua, born in 2002, residing in Nam Can village (Nam Can commune) and Vu Ba Nhenh, born in 2003, residing in Phu Kha 1 village (Na Ngoi commune), Ky Son district.
According to the Nam Can commune authorities, because the couple had feelings for each other but were not accepted by their families because they were not old enough to get married, on the afternoon of July 3, Va Y Ua and Vu Ba Nhenh invited each other to go into the forest to find poison ivy to commit suicide.

At around 4:00 p.m. the same day, upon receiving the information, local authorities and functional forces formed a team to search the forest. However, when they found the female victim, she had already died, and the male victim later died on the way to the emergency room at Tuong Duong District Medical Center.
