Quynh Luu Catholics actively respond to patriotic emulation movements

Catholics in Quynh Luu district have 10,473 households with 50,569 people, living in 56 residential areas (accounting for 17.5% of the district's population). In recent times, with the attention of the locality,ParishionersAll are enthusiastic and strictly follow the guidelines and policies of the Party and the State. The patriotic emulation movements launched by the Fatherland Front Committee and the Catholic Solidarity Committee at all levels have received the sympathy and response of the parishioners and have increasingly brought about clear results.

The economic development emulation movement is increasingly expanding and effective. Up to now, in the Catholic region, there have been 912 good economic development models in the fields of livestock, business, services, seafood exploitation and processing, with an income of over 250 million VND/year.

A typical example is the farm economic model of Mr. Nguyen Duy Thai in Thuan Nghia parish, Quynh Lam commune, which currently has more than 10,000 chickens, including 7,000 laying hens and 4,000 breeding chickens. The farm's monthly income is about 200 million VND, after deducting expenses. Or the models of the families of Mr. Hoang Xuan Tin, Hoang Xuan Thong (Loc Thuy parish, Quynh Bang commune), Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Toan (Song Ngoc parish, Quynh Ngoc commune) ... both raise high-tech shrimp, produce shrimp seeds, and provide shrimp feed services for an annual income of over 2 billion VND. The Tuan Dat shipyard model in Phu Yen parish, An Hoa commune, generates annual revenue of 12 - 15 billion VND, creating jobs for 20 workers, with an average income of 9 - 10 million VND/month per worker. The seafood purchasing and processing model of Mr. Duong Ha Nam, Phu Yen parish, An Hoa commune, processes thousands of tons of seafood and over 350 thousand liters of fish sauce per year, creating jobs for 25 workers with a stable income of 5 - 7 million VND/month.

In addition to competing in economic development, Catholics in Quynh Luu district are also active in the movement to build new rural areas associated with building "Civilized and developed residential areas". Catholics have voluntarily donated land, cleared land, contributed money and working days to build rural roads, build new and renovate village cultural houses, build schools, build "Great Unity" flag roads, plant flower roads, plant trees, install lighting systems and many churches and parish houses have been newly built or upgraded.

As a result, over the past 5 years, more than 1,950 households have donated land with more than 62,000m2.²residential and agricultural land, dismantling 365 structures and nearly 7,000m of surrounding walls, contributing over 25.6 billion VND and 47,800 working days.

In addition, with the financial and cement support from the State, in 5 years, parishioners have also renovated nearly 55km of roads, more than 19km of canals, built 23 village cultural houses, 28 "Great Unity" flag routes combined with night lighting, 12.8km long, worth 850 million VND, and built 25 flower routes in parishes and chapels.

In particular, when the Covid-19 epidemic broke out and spread in some localities, along with strictly complying with the Government's regulations on epidemic prevention and control. Priests and Pastoral Councils of parishes, congregations, and parishioners actively participated in supporting the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic to the Fatherland Front at all levels with more than 1 billion VND, including cash and necessities, and donated nearly 7,000 meals to forces participating in the fight against the epidemic and people in centralized quarantine...

According to Mr. Phan Van Sam - Head of the Catholic Solidarity Committee of Quynh Luu district, in recent years, the patriotic emulation movement among Catholics in the district has had positive changes, creating a widespread influence in the community. Thanks to that, the material and spiritual life of Catholics has been constantly improved. Parishes and parishes are increasingly spacious, the great solidarity of the whole nation is consolidated.

In order to make the patriotic emulation movement among Catholics more and more effective, in the coming time, the Catholic Solidarity Committee of the district will strengthen coordination with the Fatherland Front at all levels and agencies, units, and social organizations to continue to widely propagate and mobilize Catholics to well implement the policies and guidelines of the Party and the State. Coordinate with localities and units to continue to replicate typical advanced models among Catholics, encourage Catholics to actively combine responsibilities between religion and life, always accompanying the nation in all areas of social life.
