(Baonghean.vn) - Ky Son and Con Cuong districts (Nghe An) organized a campaign to mobilize the entire population to work on irrigation, rural transportation, flood prevention, and environmental sanitation.

Villagers in Ky Son actively do irrigation and dredge canals.

* In Ky Son:These activities are organized simultaneously in all communes and towns, striving to clean 192 villages and hamlets by the end of the December peak period, dredge canals and structures with a volume of 1,500m3 of soil and rock, clear the banks, cut grass in the 2,7000m3 canal system, build 500m3 of embankments, repair damaged and degraded structures due to the impact of rains and storms... totaling over 12,100 working days.

Villagers have actively dredged and cleared canals, renovated internal roads, and repaired the village's domestic water supply system. Through this year's movement of the entire population working on irrigation, it will contribute to ensuring enough irrigation water for the 2017 spring crop, overcoming the problem of rural environmental sanitation and contributing to providing enough domestic water for people in the district.

* At Con Cuong,On December 15 and 16, despite heavy rain, people focused on dredging and repairing irrigation works, clearing main drainage shafts, cleaning canals and internal traffic. On the first day, people dredged 2.5km of canals and built 500m of new gravel roads.

Activities also aim to repair dams, continue to solidify canals, and clean up the environment in residential areas.
