Comrade Le Thanh Hai visits historical sites in Nghe An

(Baonghean.vn) - Within the framework of the visit to Nghe An province, on the afternoon of April 23, comrade Le Thanh Hai - Former member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, along with leaders and officials of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, offered incense and flowers at Truong Bon historical relic site (My Son commune, Do Luong district); offered incense and flowers to commemorate Emperor Quang Trung at Dung Quyet mountain (Vinh city).

Accompanying the delegation to Nghe An province were comrades Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Thai Thanh Quy - Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee - Secretary of the Nam Dan District Party Committee.

Truong Bon National Historical Relic Site - the historical symbol of Nghe An Youth Volunteers, where 1,240 officers and soldiers bravely fought and sacrificed to protect the traffic artery, creating a legendary Truong Bon in the great national defense struggle of our people in the 20th century.

During the resistance war against the US to save the country, at the legendary Truong Bon road, the Youth Volunteer Force and local people steadfastly held out amidst the enemy's bombs and bullets, fought bravely, and kept the important traffic artery open with the iron determination of "Living on the bridge and road, dying steadfastly and bravely". A typical example is the sacrifice of 13 Youth Volunteer Soldiers of the "Steel Squad", "Suicide Squad" of Company 317 on October 31, 1968.

Comrade Le Thanh Hai and members of the delegation visited Truong Bon historical relic site...

...and respectfully offered incense and flowers to the heroic martyrs who heroically sacrificed their lives to protect smooth traffic at the "fire coordinates".

Before the heroic martyrs, comrade Le Thanh Hai and the members expressed their respect, admiration and deep gratitude to the women and men who overcame the rain of bombs and bullets, ensuring smooth traffic at the fire coordinates to support the Northern rear for the Southern battlefield. That sacrifice contributed to the victory of the nation, completely liberating the South, and unifying the country.

In the afternoon of the same day, the delegation visited the temple of Emperor Quang Trung on Dung Quyet Mountain (Vinh City). Comrade Le Thanh Hai and members of the delegation offered incense and flowers to the spirit of the Emperor - the genius military leader of the nation, who is the crystallization and convergence of the intellectual qualities, morality and fine traditions of the Vietnamese people.

During his lifetime, under the leadership of Quang Trung Nguyen Hue, the Tay Son peasant movement overthrew the corrupt feudal regime of Trinh - Nguyen; defeated the Siamese and Qing invaders to protect the independence, freedom and unification of the country.

Leaving the legendary Truong Bon, the group visited the temple of Emperor Quang Trung located on Dung Quyet mountain.

The delegation respectfully offered incense in memory of Emperor Quang Trung - the military genius of the Vietnamese people.
