Accompanying young people to establish their careers
(Baonghean.vn) - To make the youth movement to establish a career and start a business truly effective, the Youth Union chapters at all levels in Dien Chau have come up with many good and creative ways. Among them, promoting the pioneering and exemplary role of Youth Union cadres in building economic models has brought about practical results.
Although he graduated from the University of Construction, Vo Trong Phuc, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Dien Phu Commune, passed up the opportunity to work at some construction companies and returned to his hometown to participate in a project to grow red dragon fruit. The dedication and fearlessness of youth have been rewarded with achievements after nearly 2 years of hard work.

Mr. Phuc shared: As Deputy Secretary of the Commune Youth Union, I also worry a lot because more than half of Dien Phu youth go to work far away. And when they return, they do not see that they are well off, so when the commune has a policy to encourage young people to develop the economy in the hilly areas, I have studied and gained experience in many places and participated in the project of planting red dragon fruit. In addition to doing business, I hope that union members and young people will see the potential of the locality and stay in their hometown to start a business. And initially, there were 5 young people in the commune who received hilly land to make livestock farms, grow dragon fruit, and plant forests.
As for Mr. Tran Van Tuan in Hai Nam hamlet, Dien Bich commune, he did not follow his father's career of going out to sea to fish, but he decided to do maritime logistics services. Realizing that fishermen are now almost completely shifting to offshore fishing, Tuan boldly mobilized capital from many sources to open an ice production facility. Not stopping there, he also invested in building an oil plant at the wharf, providing fuel for hundreds of local fishermen's boats. Every year, after deducting all expenses, he earns 250 million VND.

From his successful business, he has created capital conditions for 20 young fishing boat owners who are still facing difficulties, by lending each boat 50 million VND without interest. From the example of Mr. Tuan to establish a career, it has spread among the youth of the coastal commune of Dien Bich. Up to now, the Youth Union branch of which he is the secretary has up to 30 young people who are good at business, earning 100 million VND or more each year.
Dien Ky Commune Youth Union has a very effective new way of doing things: mobilizing 9 village Youth Union secretaries to build economic models to set an example for replication among union members. The Commune Youth Union actively exploits capital sources from policy banks, youth start-up funds, youth economic development funds of the province and district for loans to union members, advises on good and innovative ways of doing things, and orients union members.
Thanks to that, 8/9 Youth Union secretaries have successfully built economic models at home with occupations such as mechanics, services, animal husbandry, medicinal plant cultivation, etc. Not only creating jobs for about 70 young people, but from here, Dien Ky Youth Union has expanded to 50 models and attracted 150 union members to work in the commune and return to their localities.

Faced with the reality that most of the district's youth go to the South and North to find jobs, but their jobs are not sustainable, do not accumulate, and also cause many other consequences, the Standing Committee of Dien Chau District Youth Union has implemented many action programs to help young people "establish themselves and make a career", focusing on the movement of "not leaving home".

After graduating from the Agricultural University, member Hoang Van Huong in Dien Thanh commune returned to his hometown to invest in a high-tech agricultural production model. |
Specifically, the Youth Union bases organize for the Youth Union members to visit and study models of youth starting a business to learn, follow, and understand the causes of poor youth households to have measures to help. Assign the Youth Union branches to register to receive support for working days, breeds, technology transfer, and loans every year to help 1-2 youth households escape poverty. Especially from the launch of grassroots Youth Union cadres to set an example in economic development, it has attracted 150 commune and hamlet Youth Union cadres to take the lead in developing farm, business, and service models...
In addition, the District Union has secured loans from the Policy Bank for 2,500 union members of over 50 billion VND, built a youth start-up fund of over 300 million VND, and disbursed loans to 10 members. Along with that, career guidance and training work has been carried out synchronously. Thanks to that, nearly 300 new models have been operating effectively, earning a net profit of 100-150 million VND/year, creating jobs for over 2,000 workers...
Mr. Pham Khac Bien - Secretary of Dien Chau District Youth Union said: The District Youth Union Executive Committee issued a Resolution on promoting the role of the Youth Union in participating in economic development, period 2014 - 2017, especially in the movement of young people joining hands to build new rural areas, in which propaganda work was done well so that young people were clearly aware of the idea of establishing a career in their homeland. The economic models of the Youth Union cadres are the most convincing evidence for the movement of establishing a career of Dien Chau youth. From there, it has created a vibrant competitive atmosphere for economic development, demonstrating the vanguard spirit of the youth, affirming the important role of Dien Chau youth in the cause of socio-economic development of the district. |
