Nam Dan tourism must become a key economic sector
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of December 21, the Provincial People's Committee had a working session with Nam Dan district to listen to and give opinions on tourism development in the following years. Comrade Le Minh Thong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired.
On the side of Nam Dan district, there were comrade Bui Dinh Long - Provincial Party Committee member, District Party Committee Secretary; Dinh Xuan Que - Chairman of the District People's Committee, along with leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and related departments and branches.
At the meeting, Nam Dan district reported the results achieved after 1 year of implementing the resolution of the District Party Congress on tourism development.
One of the most outstanding results of Nam Dan tourism in recent times is the construction of tourist destinations and products.

Besides important destinations such as Kim Lien relic site, Hoang Thi Loan tomb, King Mai relic complex, Phan Boi Chau Memorial House, Dai Tue pagoda, Vien Quang pagoda... The district People's Committee has conducted research and surveys on ancient villages in Nam Thanh, Xuan Lam, Khanh Son, Nam Trung, Van Dien communes... Through the survey, it was agreed to select a number of villages with many ancient houses in Khanh Son and Nam Trung for preservation and tourism development.

In addition, the district has also focused on researching typical agricultural tourism products such as Nam Cuong and Van Dien peanuts; Nam Anh persimmons and kudzu; Nam Kim lemons... Conducting surveys and planning to build the Vua Mai ferry area into a festival service area, a place for entertainment, cuisine and enjoying folk songs on the Lam River.
The number of visitors to Nam Dan is about 2 million/year. Revenue from tourism reaches 250 billion VND.

However, Nam Dan tourism still has many limitations: Propaganda work is not regular and continuous; There is no connection to build tours within the province and district; Management and promotion of the value of historical relics and landscapes are still limited; Tourism products are monotonous; There is a lack of entertainment areas...

At the meeting, there were many opinions on how Nam Dan can retain tourists. Nam Dan must build attractive destinations with diverse forms of entertainment to retain tourists such as movie theaters on the subject of Uncle Ho, places serving folk songs, entertainment areas, shopping malls, supermarkets, places to enjoy regional specialties...
Concluding the meeting, comrade Le Minh Thong affirmed: Tourism must be a key economic sector in the socio-economic development of Nam Dan, so in the coming time, the district needs to establish a Steering Committee for tourism development to deploy and propagate how tourism development must be the responsibility of all people. Promote propaganda work on many mass media. Cooperate with travel agencies in the province to promote and connect tours, routes, and tourist spots of Nam Dan with other destinations such as Vinh, Cua Lo, Do Luong, etc.
