Quynh Luu pineapple is protected as a collective trademark.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 13, the Fund for Supporting Low-Income Households for Economic Development (VietED) coordinated with the Quynh Luu Pineapple Association to announce the collective trademark protection certificate for Quynh Luu pineapple. Attending the announcement ceremony were leaders of Quynh Luu district, representatives of the VietED Fund, and representatives of pineapple growers in the area.

The entire Quynh Luu district has more than 600 hectares of pineapple growing area, concentrated in the mountainous communes of Tan Thang, Quynh Thang and Quynh Chau. Every year, Quynh Luu sells about 10,000 tons of pineapple to the market. However, the current pineapple consumption of farmers is floating, there is no unit or enterprise that stands up to purchase or consume the products for the people, therefore, the Quynh Luu pineapple brand is not known to the market.

Faced with the above situation, the Fund to support low-income households in economic development - VietED surveyed in Quynh Luu and decided to accompany and support pineapple growers, focusing on low-income households through the Project: "Building a sustainable Quynh Luu Pineapple Collective Brand based on the Community".

This project is initiated by the Fund for Supporting Low-Income Households for Economic Development - VietED, a Non-Governmental Organization/Social Fund of Vietnam. With this project, the Fund proposes to implement in Quynh Luu district with the role of helping local communities find and maintain sustainable livelihoods based on community approach, while protecting the brand and value as well as the reputation and competitive position of pineapple in the locality. From there, the Quynh Luu pineapple brand will be able to access the market not only domestically but also abroad.

Quynh Luu pineapple products, after being trademarked, will easily access the market.

The project was implemented within 02 years with funding from VietED Foundation and ICCO Netherlands.

At the conference, leaders of Quynh Luu district awarded the decision to grant a certificate of trademark registration to Quynh Luu Pineapple Association according to the Decision of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
