Earlier, US Energy Secretary Rick Perry said that Washington plans to impose sanctions on Nord Stream 2. The House of Representatives and the Senate may prepare draft legislation on restrictions on companies participating in Nord Stream 2.
“We have noted these statements and do not comment on them. We reject extraterritorial sanctions,” a representative of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs said.
The Nord Stream 2 project envisages the construction of two gas pipelines with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year from the Russian coast through the Baltic Sea to Germany.
