In the final match on the evening of May 11, Arslam Murat started cautiously, causing Duy Nhat to encounter many difficulties. The turning point of the match occurred when the Vietnamese boxer grabbed his opponent's leg and threw him down at the end of the first round. Being behind, Arslam Murat was forced to attack to find a draw, helping Duy Nhat compete more easily, winning convincingly 3-0 after three rounds.
This is the seventh time Duy Nhat has won the world Muay Thai championship in the amateur category. That is why he is known as the “undefeated” in this category.
At the tournament taking place in Minsk (Belarus), the Vietnamese Muay Thai team achieved unexpected success. In addition to Duy Nhat, Hoang Duc also won a gold medal in the 48 kg category. The boxer named Le defeated Arifkhanov Bakytzhan of Kazakhstan to step onto the highest podium in the world arena for the first time in his career.
Returning from Belarus, Duy Nhat and his teammates will participate in the national championship from May 20 to May 27. After the tournament, the team will go to Thailand for a long-term training session.
