Facebook Messenger adds group video calling feature
Facebook Messenger has just added a large recording and capture button on the chat application interface as well as support for group video calling.
When users upgrade the application, the Messenger interface will have a slight change. Accordingly, below the chat interface, there is an additional round button, allowing users to quickly access the photo and video recording application. Users can also choose to quickly swipe from top to bottom to open this feature.
According to Facebook's announcement, this is one of two major changes in this Messenger app update. The other major change is that users can make group video calls from Messenger. Notably, this is the 100th update of the Facebook Messenger app since its inception.

Adding the option to take a photo or record a quick video right from the main interface of Messenger shows that Facebook really wants to invest heavily in the video segment. Over the past year, they have introduced many ways for users to share more videos. The company is also considering paying video creators if their videos get a lot of views.
Regarding the new photo and video capture interface, Facebook representative said it has all the features of a professional photo capture application including 3D mask sets, drawing or inserting text on photo or video background, frames, stickers, etc.
Meanwhile, the group chat feature is said to be launched to satisfy the suggestions from users. With the new update, users can chat in groups, directly from the application. When the call is in progress, all members of the group will receive a notification, although the phone will not vibrate.
Facebook Messenger reached 1 billion users in July this year. In 2016, the app achieved a remarkable growth rate with about 100 million new users every 3 months.
