The largest social network has just announced the expansion of job search features for workers on their platform to more than 40 countries around the world.

According to technology news site Mashable, Facebook launched this tool in the US and Canada last year. Now it has expanded to more than 40 countries, making it easier for workers and employers to find each other.

Working in a similar way to Microsoft's LinkedIn job site, Facebook users can now search and apply for a job directly on the Facebook mobile app or on the web.

Businesses with Facebook Pages can post job vacancies here, view applications and schedule interviews with candidates.

The expansion of the job search feature is a move to formalize a Facebook tool to meet the huge job search needs of users.

According to Facebook research, up to 1/4 of Americans have found and gotten jobs through this social networking platform.

Job information will appear on Marketplace tools, News feed and fanpage. Users can also subscribe to follow new recruitment information of the recruiting unit.

There is no cost to either candidates or employers to use Facebook's job search tool, although businesses can purchase Facebook ads to prioritize their job postings and reach a more specific group of candidates.

Facebook officials said that recruitment links from third-party sites will not appear on Facebook's Jobs portal.

Currently only jobs posted on Facebook Pages are displayed in the Jobs browser.
