Facebook is emerging as a contender to broadcast the Premier League in Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam.

According to Bloomberg sources, Facebook is in the process of negotiating copyright and will have to compete with Qatar-based BeIN Sports, which paid about $250 million for a three-year contract to broadcast all 380 matches per season.
Facebook is getting serious about sports broadcasting, hiring the CEO of Eurosport earlier this year to help broker live streaming deals around the world.
