(Baonghean.vn) - The US federal agency has just canceled the hearing that took place on Tuesday with Apple, and said that they have some possible methods to unlock the phone of Syed Farook, the person who caused the recent shooting in San Bernardino.

Many people support Apple in its legal battle with the FBI.

The surprising reversal delays the outcome of a two-year battle over digital security between the US government and Silicon Valley.

Meanwhile, the legal battle between Apple and the US Justice Department has attracted so much attention that policymakers may get involved or there will be another trial sooner or later.

The government will decide on April 5 whether to pursue the case. Apple representatives said at a press conference that they do not consider the new development a legal victory and warned that officials could return to the tense situation in the next two weeks.

On Monday night, US District Judge Sheri Pym upheld a request that Apple help the government unlock the iPhone of San Bernardino shooter Syed Farook, highlighting the impasse in the FBI's investigation.

US investigators said they have continued to look for new ways to break into Farook's iPhone 5C since the Justice Department sued Apple. In 2014, Apple updated its iPhone software so that it could no longer download data to a locked device without the user's passcode, something Apple did not realize.

The White House, siding with the Justice Department, did not immediately comment on the reversal.
