Nearly 100 cases of traffic safety violations were punished after 1 week of campaign

From September 4, 3 special task forces including Traffic Police, Mobile Police, 113 Police, and Public Order Police of the Provincial Police began taking turns patrolling 24/7 on routes N5, D4, Southeast Economic Zone, Provincial Road 538B and National Highway 1A.

After 1 week of operation, the working groups organized 23 patrol shifts, with 230 officers and soldiers participating. Through inspection, the working groups made records of 174 cases. Among them were 113 trucks, 53 cars, 6 passenger cars, 1 bus, and 1 taxi. The working groups decided to temporarily detain 17 trucks and 2 cars.

After detecting violations, the authorities decided to administratively sanction 98 cases and transferred VND 267.5 million to the State Treasury.

According to the authorities, the main violations were speeding (76 cases) and carrying goods exceeding the permitted load (21 cases). There were trucks carrying goods exceeding the permitted load by 30-50%, and in particular, there were 3 trucks carrying goods exceeding the permitted load by 50-100%.

In addition, the authorities also discovered and punished 19 cases of violations in renovating and changing the size of the vehicle's walls and trunk; 2 cases of transporting construction materials and leaving them scattered on the road; 10 cases of not having a driver's license; 6 cases of not having a vehicle registration certificate...

According to the leader of the Traffic Police Department, in cases of renovating and changing the size of the vehicle's walls and trunk, after making a record, the working groups will allow the driver and vehicle owner to cut off the walls and trunk that they have arbitrarily installed; at the same time, they must take actual photos of the vehicle with the walls and trunk cut in accordance with regulations to keep records.

According to the assessment of the Provincial Police, traffic violations in the province have occurred frequently in the past time, the most typical of which are violations of speed, alcohol concentration; passenger cars, buses speeding, reckless overtaking; trucks carrying oversized and overloaded goods... which pose a potential risk of causing traffic accidents and affecting traffic infrastructure. Especially violations on routes such as Provincial Road 538B.

Implementing the direction of the Provincial People's Committee Chairman on ensuring traffic safety on routes N5, D4, Southeast Economic Zone, Provincial Road 538B and National Highway 1A, on August 31, the Director of Nghe An Provincial Police issued Plan No. 842 to strengthen traffic control and handle speeding cars and oversized and overloaded trucks on this route.

Nghe An Provincial Police have established 3 special working groups, each group has 10 members including Traffic Police, Mobile Police, 113 Police, and Public Order Police to increase 24/24h closed patrols on these routes. In addition, Nghi Loc and Do Luong District Police have been assigned to establish other working groups ready to increase support when complicated situations arise. Phase 1 will be deployed for a month, starting from September 4 to October 4.

The police force will focus on detecting and handling 8 main violations including: speeding, carrying goods exceeding the size of the cargo container, carrying goods exceeding the permitted load, arbitrarily modifying the vehicle's technical design, extending the cargo container, not obeying traffic lights...

In addition to the above violations, during the inspection and control process, if other violations are detected, the working groups will handle them according to the provisions of law.
