Integrating practice with theory in political education.

(Baonghean.vn) - This was the point emphasized by Professor, Doctor Nguyen Xuan Thang - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics - during a working session with the Nghe An Provincial Political School on the afternoon of June 14th.

Attending the working session on behalf of Nghe An province were: Mr. Nguyen Xuan Son – Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Huu Lam – Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hien – Principal of the Provincial Political School; and leaders of several departments, agencies, and the Provincial Political School.

Professor Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang - Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics - chaired the meeting.

In the 2015-2016 academic year, the Nghe An Provincial Political School advised the Provincial Party Standing Committee to consider and issue Project No. 12 on "Building and developing the Nghe An Provincial Political School in the period 2015-2020, with a vision to 2030". At the same time, the school successfully carried out the training and professional development of cadres with 63 classes and 4,705 students, exceeding the training targets and plans.

A highlight is that, for the first time during the 2010-2015 term, the school opened new training courses for Party committee secretaries, updated knowledge courses for target group 4, and training courses for mass mobilization cadres.

Scientific research was given attention, with highly-rated topics such as: "Research on some innovative solutions for organization and operation to improve the effectiveness of state management of commune-level governments in Nghe An province during the period 2013-2015" which received an excellent rating…

The school also focuses on building an organizational structure that ensures both quantity and quality; improving the qualifications of its staff in all aspects, with a particular emphasis on enhancing the professional and technical capabilities of its lecturers…

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, delivered a speech at the working session.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - acknowledged the school's achievements in training cadres for the province; and at the same time requested the school to continue to take care of its staff and lecturers; and to link teaching with practice to contribute to improving the quality of training.

The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee emphasized: The school must summarize its training and education practices to draw lessons for building a scientific curriculum and training methods; proactively develop a list of scientific research topics to ensure practical projects for the province; and gradually improve the school's facilities and equipment… Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son also requested that the Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy continue to pay attention to and assist the school.

Professor, Doctor Nguyen Xuan Thang - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics - highly appreciated the achievements of the school in training, improving the quality of staff and lecturers, facilities, and student management.

The Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics also suggested that the school continue to innovate its training methods, paying attention to researching topics to create better and more up-to-date lectures. In particular, the school's lecturers should go to the grassroots level and participate in mass mobilization, propaganda, and organizational work… in order to understand the practical situation and better serve their professional work.

Professor, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang requested the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee to continue paying attention to and creating favorable conditions for the school in its activities, including successfully organizing the 2017 competition for excellent lecturers from provincial-level political schools and training schools of ministries and sectors, which will be held at the school.
