According to Reuters and Barchart, Arabica coffee prices are on a downward trend. The reason comes from favorable weather forecasts in Brazil. Recent rains have supported the flowering of coffee trees, and more rain is expected in early October, leading the market to expect more abundant supplies.

In addition to the weather factor, the market is also closely watching information about the 50% tax that the US imposed on Brazilian coffee. Investors are waiting for the results of the scheduled meeting between US President Donald Trump and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

Not only Arabica, Robusta coffee is also falling in price due to the sharp increase in supply from Vietnam. Vietnam has officially entered the 2025-2026 coffee harvest season since early October. In growing areas, farmers are urgently looking for workers to serve the harvesting work.

This harvesting stage is extremely important but still almost impossible to apply machines. The reason is the farming method and the uneven terrain of the coffee garden, making manual harvesting a must.

Harvesting techniques also require skill to ensure productivity and protect the garden, avoiding damage that could affect the next crop.

Recently, many specialty coffee farms have started recruiting volunteers for the harvest season, which lasts from October to the end of January of the following year. Through this model, volunteers have the opportunity to experience the entire process from harvesting, processing to processing specialty coffee, while accumulating valuable knowledge in a field with great potential.

For the farm owners, they find additional labor, creating a mutually beneficial solution.
