In the Vietnamese market, some experts believe that domestic coffee prices may face some downward pressure in the near future. The reason is that new supplies from the harvest are gradually being released to the market, while global demand is showing signs of decreasing due to high prices.

However, the decrease may not be too deep because the supply from farmers to the market will not be massive. Last year, the sharp increase in coffee prices helped growers have good income, so the financial pressure was not too great. This helped farmers to proactively keep their goods, not immediately sell them massively.

Coffee prices on the world market also fluctuate:

Robusta Coffee (London):

Delivery in May 2025: Up 47 USD/ton, to 5,516 USD/ton.

July 2025 delivery: Up 43 USD/ton, to 5,495 USD/ton.

Arabica Coffee (New York):

May 2025 delivery: Up 8.05 cents/lb, to 391.85 cents/lb.

July 2025 delivery: Up 7.55 cents/lb, to 384.9 cents/lb.

Many coffee traders and roasters around the world are cutting back on purchases, Reuters reported. The sharp rise in coffee prices has left importers hesitant, while suppliers are having trouble convincing retailers to accept higher prices.

Some brokers said customers were now risk-averse, buying only what they could use immediately rather than placing orders for later delivery. Transactions in Brazil were also proceeding cautiously.

Meanwhile, a Reuters poll predicts that Arabica coffee prices could fall 30% by the end of the year, as high prices dampen demand and signs of a bumper crop in Brazil next year. But before prices fall significantly, the coffee industry faces a number of challenges.
