Coffee price today February 5, 2025: Sharp drop, speculators compete to sell to take profit
Today's domestic coffee price, February 5, is at 127,200 - 128,200 VND/kg. A sharp decrease of 2,500 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Today's coffee price had a red session when speculators rushed to sell to take profits at the peak price.
Domestic coffee prices today
Domestic coffee prices in the Central Highlands today decreased sharply compared to yesterday, fluctuating between 127,200 - 128,200 VND/kg.
Accordingly, traders in Dak Nong province are purchasing coffee at the highest price of 128,200 VND/kg. A sharp decrease of 2,500 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Coffee price in Dak Lak province is 128,000 VND/kg, down 2,500 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Coffee prices in Gia Lai province decreased by VND2,500/kg and were traded at VND128,000/kg.
In Lam Dong province, coffee prices dropped sharply by VND2,500/kg to VND127,200/kg.

With this development, domestic coffee prices will lose the 130,000 VND/kg mark set during Tet. Many farmers are wondering whether coffee prices will drop to 115,000 VND/kg like the end of November 2024 or will it just decrease temporarily, then set new historical milestones?
Analysts say that with the current situation, coffee prices are likely to continue to decrease in the trading session tomorrow, February 6, 2025, before prices can turn around and increase back to 130,000 VND/kg. The Central Highlands provinces have had a bumper crop with many households earning good incomes thanks to high coffee prices and stable output. Although coffee output fell by 15% due to the weather, export value soared thanks to the global coffee consumption trend and large investments in the value chain by Vietnamese enterprises.

On the London and New York exchanges, the coffee market moved in opposite directions across all terms.
New York Arabica coffee futures have been moving in the opposite direction to the exchanges due to the impact of the constantly changing US dollar. According to traders, 70-80% of Brazil's current Arabica coffee stocks have been released to the market, while new transactions are relatively slow.
The news that the administration of US President Donald Trump imposed a 25% tax on goods from Mexico and Canada and a 10% tax on goods from China also had a significant impact on the commodity market in general and coffee in particular in the last trading session.
