Hung also posted many photos related to the police force, wearing police uniform on Facebook. Around the beginning of January 2016, in the evening, Hung often wore police uniform to go to the coffee shop "Hung Villa" at 847 Binh Gia, Ward 11, Vung Tau City.
Here, Hung met Mr. Nguyen Van Ngoc and Mr. Mai Van Phat and introduced himself as an officer working at the Investigation Department of Vung Tau City Police. Hung told them that there was a batch of motorbikes being liquidated by the police, with priority given to officers in the industry to buy at a cheap price, a few million VND per motorbike. If anyone was interested, Hung would contact them to buy it for them.
Believing that Hung was a real police officer, the two men gave him 21.5 million VND to buy a car. Hung used this money for personal expenses. Later, Hung's fraud was discovered and he was arrested.
