On November 1, the police of Thuan An town, Binh Duong province said they were detaining Thai Hoang Vu (23 years old, from Soc Trang) to investigate the act of "Fraud and appropriation of property".

Previously, An Phu ward police, Thuan An town received reports from many victims about being tricked by a young man pretending to be a woman on Zalo to meet them to "talk" and then take their phones and run away.

To carry out the fraud, Vu invited the victims to a villa in An Phu ward and promised to have sex. Before entering the villa, Vu asked these people to leave their phones outside for their family to keep, which Vu actually pretended to be. After taking the victims' phones, Vu got on a motorbike and fled.

Through the monitoring process, on the afternoon of October 31, the police arrested Vu with the evidence.

At the police station, Vu admitted to the fraud. Previously, Vu had also successfully carried out many similar cases in Thuan An and Di An towns.

Currently, the police are continuing to expand the investigation and calling on the victims to come to the police to report.
