Pig prices today, September 19, continued to decrease in all three regions, fluctuating between 55,000 and 60,000 VND/kg. The downward trend is forecasted to continue.

Northern pig prices continue to fall

The Northern live hog market this morning recorded a decrease in many provinces. Specifically, Hanoi, Cao Bang, Ninh Binh, Lao Cai, Hung Yen and Tuyen Quang all returned to 57,000 VND/kg.

Currently, the price of live pigs in this area fluctuates from 56,000 - 58,000 VND/kg, lower than previous days.

Pig prices in the Central and Central Highlands regions gradually weaken

The Central Highlands region is also on a downward trend. In Thanh Hoa and Nghe An, the price of live pigs dropped to 56,000 VND/kg, while Ha Tinh dropped to the lowest level of 55,000 VND/kg.

Transactions in other localities fluctuated between 55,000 - 59,000 VND/kg, showing that the market has not shown clear signs of recovery.

Pig prices in the South are adjusted simultaneously.

In the South, the price of live pigs decreased by 1,000 VND/kg in Dong Nai, Tay Ninh and Dong Thap, currently at 59,000 VND/kg. In Vinh Long alone, it dropped to 58,000 VND/kg, equal to Can Tho - the two localities with the lowest transaction price in the region.

In general, the price of live pigs in the South this morning is commonly around 58,000 - 60,000 VND/kg.

Experts predict that pig prices may continue to fall in the short term as demand has not yet increased strongly again. This development shows that the market is returning to a downward trajectory after a period of stability, especially in key livestock provinces.

Retail pork prices remain stable

Despite the drop in live hog prices, retail pork prices at supermarkets remain stable. At WinMart, Meat Deli chilled pork ranges from 119,922 to 163,122 VND/kg, with a 20% discount for members. Ground pork is priced at the lowest at 119,922 VND/kg, while pork belly is sold at the highest at 163,122 VND/kg.

At Ha Hien Food Company, pork products this morning were priced between 76,190 and 162,857 VND/kg. Of which, pork ribs were listed at the highest price of 162,857 VND/kg, followed by pork belly and lean meat at the same price of 139,048 VND/kg. Pork fat remained at the lowest price of 76,190 VND/kg.
