Current epidemic situation
In addition to the price of live pigs, the disease situation is also a notable issue. African swine fever has appeared in 7 districts of Long An province, causing losses to farmers. Specifically, the epidemic has spread to 11 households in 10 communes, with a total of 388 pigs culled, equivalent to 15,860.6 kg. To cope with the epidemic, the Long An livestock industry has implemented preventive measures, including vaccination and strengthening propaganda, instructing people on how to prevent the epidemic and maintain safe livestock farming. To date, the province has injected more than 1,260 doses of vaccine against blue ear disease, more than 4,000 doses of vaccine against foot and mouth disease, nearly 1,400 doses of vaccine against lumpy skin disease, and many other vaccines for livestock and poultry. At the same time, the province has also stepped up environmental sanitation, disinfection and sterilization to prevent the spread of the epidemic.
