With only 2 months left until the Lunar New Year 2025, after African swine fever (ASF) was controlled, people have proactively restored their herds, expanded livestock farming, and applied biosecurity methods. The goal is to ensure adequate pork supply for the Tet market.

Although the epidemic has been controlled, the risk of DTLCP recurrence is still very high. Currently, the whole country has 142 communes in 26 provinces and cities that have not passed 21 days of epidemic control.

The erratic weather at the end of the year creates favorable conditions for the ASF virus to survive and spread. The risk increases due to the fact that household farming has not ensured biosecurity, the control of pig slaughter and trading in some localities is still lax, and the ASF vaccination rate for pigs is still low.

Implementing Directive 41 of the Prime Minister, requiring all levels and sectors to resolutely deploy solutions to prevent ASF. The goal is to effectively prevent the disease from recurring, protect the pig herd and ensure adequate food supply for the 2025 Lunar New Year.
