The livestock industry in Tay Ninh is transforming from small-scale to farm-based and biosafety-based. Although household farming still accounts for 20% of the industry, it is a form that carries the risk of disease and environmental pollution. Ineffective waste treatment has seriously affected the environment.
According to Mr. Tran Van Chien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Tay Ninh needs to develop disease-free livestock farming areas and encourage businesses to invest in high technology to export livestock products. He shared: "Tay Ninh will build modern livestock and slaughter value chains and diversify consumption markets."
The province has attracted large enterprises such as De Heus, Vinamilk and BaF. Currently, Tay Ninh has 580 livestock farms and 111 poultry farms, mainly concentrated in Tan Chau and Tan Bien districts.
