In the days leading up to Tet, the live pig market becomes bustling with the participation of many traders. At the Ha Nam livestock and poultry wholesale market, hundreds of trucks and three-wheeled vehicles rush in and out, creating a bustling atmosphere of buying and selling. The demand for livestock and poultry at the end of the year increases sharply due to festivals and weddings, causing the supply to always be in a state of scarcity.
According to Mr. Nguyen The Chinh, Head of the Ha Nam Livestock and Poultry Wholesale Market Management Board, the amount of goods imported to the market is currently 800 - 1,000 tons/day, nearly double that of last month. Mr. Chinh affirmed that the supply of live pigs during Tet is still abundant, and there is unlikely to be a shortage. The increase in live pig prices helps farmers make a profit, while traders also have an advantage in selling their goods.
