In the Mekong Delta, rice prices are falling today. In Soc Trang and Dong Thap, there are few buyers and not many transactions. An Giang also recorded a similar situation with rice prices falling slightly.
The price of IR 504 Summer-Autumn raw rice is currently 10,200 - 10,300 VND/kg, down 250 - 300 VND compared to yesterday. The price of IR 504 finished rice has also decreased, currently at 12,600 - 12,800 VND/kg.
Meanwhile, at retail markets, rice prices remained unchanged. Nang Nhen rice had the highest price of VND28,000/kg. Other types of rice such as Jasmine, Nang Hoa, and regular rice were priced from VND15,000 to VND21,000/kg.

Specifically, the price of IR 50404 rice ranges from 7,100 to 7,300 VND/kg.
Dai Thom 8 rice costs from 8,000 to 8,200 VND/kg.
OM 5451 rice is priced between 7,400 and 7,700 VND/kg.
OM 18 rice is sold at a price of 7,500 to 7,800 VND/kg.
OM 380 rice price is stable at 7,300 VND/kg.
Japanese rice costs from 7,800 to 8,000 VND/kg.
The highest price of dried Nang Nhen rice is 20,000 VND/kg.
By-product price today 10/1/2024
The current prices of by-products range from 5,950 to 10,000 VND/kg. Specifically, the price of OM 5451 panels has increased, ranging from 9,600 to 10,000 VND/kg, an increase of 300 VND.
The price of dry bran also increased slightly, with the new price ranging from 5,950 to 6,100 VND/kg, an increase of 50 VND.
Meanwhile, sticky rice prices remained unchanged from yesterday. Long An IR 4625 sticky rice (dried) was priced from VND9,500 to VND9,700 per kilogram, and Long An 3-month sticky rice (dried) was priced from VND9,800 to VND10,000 per kilogram.
Rice export price today
Vietnam's rice export prices remain unchanged, with 100% broken rice at $454/ton, 5% standard rice at $562/ton, and 25% broken rice at $532/ton, according to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA).
In August 2024, Vietnam's rice exports increased by 13.3% in quantity and 12.9% in value compared to July, reaching 851,079 tons and 509.82 million USD, although the average price decreased slightly by 0.4% to 599 USD/ton.
Total rice exports in the first 8 months of 2024 increased by 5.8% in quantity, reaching 6.15 million tons; increased by 21.7% in value, reaching nearly 3.85 billion USD; and the average price increased by 15%, reaching 625.9 USD/ton compared to the same period in 2023.
The Philippines is the largest rice import market from Vietnam, accounting for 45.7% of the total quantity and 44.6% of the total value, with nearly 2.81 million tons and nearly 1.72 billion USD, priced at 611 USD/ton, up 19.7% in quantity, 39.8% in value and 16.7% in price compared to the first 8 months of 2023.
Indonesia was the second largest import market, with an increase of 27.3% in quantity and 54.4% in value, reaching 913,888 tons and 557.77 million USD, priced at 610.3 USD/ton, accounting for 14.9% of the total quantity and 14.5% of the total export value of Vietnam's rice.
Rice exports to Malaysia also increased sharply, with 112% in quantity and 152.9% in value, reaching 582,872 tons and 345.94 million USD, with an average price of 593.5 USD/ton, accounting for 9.5% of total quantity and 9% of total value.
