Impersonating police officer to sell firefighting and rescue books in Nghe An

During the period from late October to early November 2018, in Thanh Chuong district, a number of individuals impersonating police officers from the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue units appeared, going to agencies, units of communes, towns, and schools to sell books on fire prevention, fire fighting and rescue. These individuals also "forced" businesses to pay fees for training courses on fire prevention, fire fighting and rescue. This activity has caused public outrage among officials and people.

Lieutenant Colonel Dang Hong Hai - Deputy Head of Thanh Chuong District Police said: "After receiving information from the people, the District Police conducted verification and concluded: the fire prevention, fire fighting, rescue and relief units in the police sector do not have documents or regulations on contacting to sell books with content related to fire prevention and fighting.

Therefore, Thanh Chuong District Police issued Official Dispatch No. 415-CV/CATC dated November 7, 2018 to notify all localities, units, and schools to warn that this is an activity of impersonating police officers for illegal profit.
