Impersonating bank employees to defraud nearly 2 billion VND

The subject used a fake name and signed fake contracts to defraud many electronics distribution companies.

The Social Order Crime Investigation Police Team, District 3 Police, Ho Chi Minh City has just prosecuted and detained Pham Thanh Tuan (born in 1981, residing in District 6) to investigate the act of forging seals and documents of organizations and fraudulently appropriating property.

Pham Thanh Tuan confessed to the Investigation Police Agency that he used to work as a bank employee and knew that many banks regularly implemented brand promotion strategies using electronic purchasing programs for use or as promotional products for customers. Therefore, Tuan pretended to be an employee of several banks and called electronic sales points to negotiate purchases for the bank.

Tuan used Photoshop software to create fake seals and fake sales contracts, printed them in color, then went online to hire a delivery person to bring the fake contracts to the agreed electronic point of sale, then receive the goods and deliver them back to Tuan.

Using the above trick, Tuan used the fake name Le Vo Xuan Huy, signed fake contracts to defraud many electronics distribution companies.

Evidence of the case

Currently, 4 stores and companies have reported Tuan's fraud with a total amount of nearly 2 billion VND. However, this is only the initial figure, the investigation agency believes there are many other victims.

The police also invited four other suspects to give statements to clarify their behavior of transporting and consuming property obtained by others through crime.
